Lei ShopLei ShopLei Shop

Shop after shop all in a row in several areas. It really is so pretty to see all the different types of Leis! They have them for all occasions and many sizes as well as cost. You can get simple ones for $5 on up the average seems to be $10/12. Getting a mock orange one for Nick when he gets here just so he can say he got Leied in Hawaii! Big joke here on the islands. LOL
Aloha Everyone! I hear there is a huge heat wave going on. Nice 85 here as usual. Had some rain which is always welcome and of course the tradewinds which never seem to stop. Haven't done too much since last post but had some new pictures so thought they might be fun to put up. Rick and I went to Chinatown this past weekend (before heading to favorite Tiki Bar! LOL) for some Acupuncture. This market is pretty quiet and small compared to SF but still the sights and sounds and not to be forgotten Ever are the smells of Chinatown. It is interesting and kind of fun to get lost in. A great place to people watch and shop for fish and produce. The market in the early morning is suppose to be really hopping but I can never get over there early enough to shop with the local chefs in the area. Well off and running keep cool everyone! This is at a Beach down the way I ride my bike to for a change. Walk past here evry morning but don't stop. Thought it was a neat view of the twin islands located off Lanikai Beach.

View coming out of Pali Tunnel

Not sure if I posted this already but if I did oh well. This is the view when coming from Honolulu to our side. I don't think you can ever get use to the feeling you get when you come out of the tunnel and this is what you see before you. I can only imagine when people are coming home from a long day at work in Hot busy Honolulu that they must just take a deep breath and go ahhhh.....

As in Asian cultures these trees are very esteemed and important to their beliefs. Such a beautiful tree but man the roots could do some damage in your yard!

Penguins in Hawaii?

No this isn't the Zoo just the fancy Hilton Waikiki. Sometimes it is just fun to check out the cool hotels. As beautiful as this one is it doesn't even compare to the one on the big island! But the stinky penguins certainly draw a crowd.

These were in the hotel grounds. The ones I see snorkeling in front here are much larger. Fun to chase around in the water as they are slow enough to follow but smart enough to ditch you LOL

Was given this fresh from the boat. This piece weighs about 3# which came from a 165# Tuna caught about 12 miles off shore. Woohoo!

Stormy day last week or should I say stormy morning I ended up spending time on beach later in the afternoon. Wait five minutes and the weather is bound to change here!
