Sun Coast Trail

Biking Florida's Sun Coast Trail

This is a 42 miles (68 km) trail that parallels highway 589 (Sun Coast Parkway)

There is a southern trailhead at Lutz Lake Fern Road near Tampa where it intersects with highway 589.

Another one is at SR 54 and the Parkway

In the north one can be found 10 miles from the end at Brooksville where Cortez Blvd (south side) intersects with the Parkway.

Water, bathrooms and pay stations are found here ($3.00 daily parking fee per vehicle)

The trail passes through suburban, agricultural and natural areas.

There are covered benches and garbage cans along thetrail.

Also wildlife viewing areas.

Trail ends 10 miles (15 km) north of Brooksville at highway 98.

There a few short "Florida hills" (aka not very steep!)
