We left Atlanta this morning at 8 AM and 72 degrees and headed out for our last day on the road, this trip. You all know what that drive is like. I knew we were getting close to home when, at noon time, we saw our first palm trees and the temperature was 91 degrees. We landed in Satellite Beach at 3:30 PM and I must add, we had a VERY happy doggie. Beamer is glad to be home, as are we. And the first thing I did was bow my head and thank the Lord for getting us home safe and sound.
Our plan was:

to visit the five national parks in Utah and also Yellowstone in Wyoming. Check. We did that and a few more.

<li style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; font-size: 12pt; font-style: normal; font-weight: normal;">to visit Pat and Robin in Huntsville, Ontario. Check. Finally, and we had a great time.

<li style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; font-size: 12pt; font-style: normal; font-weight: normal;">to visit my brother and his wife in Maine. Check. It had been way too long.

<li style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; font-size: 12pt; font-style: normal; font-weight: normal;">to return to our spot on Cadillac Mt. in Arcadia NP. Check. Can't believe we actually found the same spot where we sat in 1969. Fabulous.

As for the statistics:

we were gone 37 days

<li style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; font-size: 12pt; font-style: normal; font-weight: normal;">drove in and through 25 states and 2 countries

<li style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; font-size: 12pt; font-style: normal; font-weight: normal;">visited 11 national parks, numerous national forests and a few national recreational areas

<li style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; font-size: 12pt; font-style: normal; font-weight: normal;">covered just shy of 10,000 miles

<li style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; font-size: 12pt; font-style: normal; font-weight: normal;">visited most of our immediate family

<li style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; font-size: 12pt; font-style: normal; font-weight: normal;">stayed in countless hotels, some great some not so great

<li style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; font-size: 12pt; font-style: normal; font-weight: normal;">ate too many sandwiches, not enough fruit

<li style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; font-size: 12pt; font-style: normal; font-weight: normal;">spent too much money.

As a result of all of this:

the car needs a bath

<li style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; font-size: 12pt; font-style: normal; font-weight: normal;">the dog needs a bath

<li style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; font-size: 12pt; font-style: normal; font-weight: normal;">Steve and I both need a hair cut

<li style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; font-size: 12pt; font-style: normal; font-weight: normal;">we both need a good night's sleep in our own bed.

Did we have a good time? You bet. Will we do it again? Most likely.
I want to thank all of you who followed us through this adventure. You make it fun for me, because writing this blog encourages me to be in the moment all of the time. And that makes for a much more enjoyable experience.
Till next time…
