Happy Valentine's Day
Again our day started with a beach walk and a little shell collecting. It was a beautiful day again and we took advantage of it. When we came back I decided to do a little cleaning up around the camper and even went to the dump station. It had been over a week since I emptied the holding tanks so it was definitely time. I dreaded disrupting camp but it went easily and in no time I was back and all settled in.
I was on the wait list for the kayak trip on Wednesday and the office called me to ask if I was available Thursday because they had to cancel Wed because of high winds. I said I was and later found out that there was a cancellation so I am on the list for Thursday. Hooray!
We have had a complete turnover in my little section of the campground so I am talking to all new people. Anyone that walks by with a dog has to stop to say HI to Watson or he barks their whole way down the road. HE loves saying hi to everyone and some people even stop
to play with him. I am including the picture of the 3 long hair doxies from the other day.
I went into town to see what stores were there, yes, I went shopping! There was a kite store, a junky beach stuff store, several eaterys and of course an ice cream shop. I wondered around but didn't find anything interesting so back to the beach I went.
It was a lovely evening.
Wednesday I woke at 6:45 and realized I had only taken the sunrise once since I have been here. I will not be on the east coast again so today was sunrise day. There were clouds on the horizon so again I had to wait a little to see the sun. Then the clouds moved in from the land to give high cloudiness but proved to be an interesting effect.
No beach walk today, we went to the river side to talk to my friends Judy and Larry from PA to ask them for happy hour today. They were on their way out so we talked briefly and decided to wait and see how the weather was in the afternoon. There were severe wind
warnings and as the day progressed it turned into severe thunderstorm warnings. I texted my friends in Clermont and they had the front go through with a tornado about 20 miles away from them. I stayed close and listened to my phone warnings ready to head for the bathroom again but nothing severe happened. The wind was strong all day with gusts of 36 mph so at time we got sandblasted, so badly that I went inside.
I worked on another wind chime but couldn't drill holes because the drill wouldn't open for the drill bit. My across the street neighbor came to my rescue and got it working but I didn't want to work outside with little bits of shell flying around in that wind so I went inside and strung some shells that already had holes.
Judy and Larry came by and we had a really nice visit for happy hour. We did stay outside with only one mishap, the chip dish flew sending chips all over. The birds will be thrilled. Watson got bored eating them and just ignored the rest.
After Judy and Larry left I went inside and made dinner and finished
a string of shells for the wind chime. Then I edited pictures from sunrise and later wave shots. The wind was blowing the waves so the mist was flying high. It looked beautiful but hard to capture in pictures. I should have gotten my telephoto lens or gone down to the beach but didn't so I have to put up with less than perfect.
By the end of most days I'm tired, but it's a good tired.
