This morning, we heated up some bagels and Pop Tarts for breakfast. We placed a grocery order with Fort Wilderness, and they delivered our groceries yesterday around 6pm. Once we were fed and ready, we drove our golf cart to the Outpost and caught the bus for Hollywood Studios. Once again, we had no wait at all, and the bus arrived in Hollywood Studios about 10-15 minutes later.

We were there at opening at 9am, and our first FastPass was for Toy Story Mania at 9:35. Disney allows guests to set 3 FastPasses for each day ahead of time that allow you to skip most of the line. You get an hour long block of time to arrive at that ride. Ours was for Toy Story Mania is in the new Toy Story Land, so, we headed in the direction of Toy Story Land. It was pretty cute, decorated with Toy Story statues and toys.

We hopped in the line for Slinky Dog Dash, Disney's newest ride. It was 9:05am, and a man held a sign that said the wait was 80 minutes. It might be a tight squeeze for our FastPass that was good until 10:35am, but I read online that there is a 10 minutes grace period afterwards, so I thought we'd be OK. After half an hour of waiting, I asked a cast member how much longer the line would be from where we were. He said the wait would be 80 minutes from under the clock, and pointed ahead of us. We weren't really sure what to do since we'd spent so much time waiting. I ended up staying in line, and Andrew and the kids ran over to Toy Story Mania. I inched forward in line, and I got to a point where a cast member was announcing that family could no longer join up in line after that point. So, I stood there for 20 minutes, letting people in front of me, until Andrew and the kids came back. They had a great time on Toy Story Mania. Oliver said it was a great FastPass and asked me if I could get another (I couldn't).

We waited in line for about 45 more minutes. As we got closer, we could see the Slinky Dog Dash coaster whiz by. Oliver started to really freak out about the ride. I told him to make a choice between this Slinky Dog Dash and Big Thunder Mountain at Magic Kingdom tomorrow. He finally chose to stay for Slinky Dog Dash. When we finally got on and went, I had the best time. The roller coaster was so fun that I was laughing and loved it. As it turns out, Oliver hated it. He was mad at me for forcing him to go, and Andrew got queasy. We decided to skip the Disney Junior Dance Party FastPass, and, instead, we went to visit Star Wars characters to rest in air conditioning. We got to meet Kylo Ren with at the Disney Visa card member area, and we waited in line for BB8 and Chewbacca in the regular area.

Afterwards, we enjoyed our lunch at the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater (a really fun and relaxing place to eat!), and then we caught the Frozen Sing Along show before we left. When we were waiting for the doors to open for the sing along, a newlywed couple wearing a bride and groom hat were pushing past people, cutting in front of them and us. Anyone can enjoy a sing along, but I was appalled that grown adults would cut in front of all these kids to get into the Frozen Sing Along first. I was talking to Jo and told her we should practice our singing voices. We started belting out "Let it go...!" right behind the couple that cut in front of us. We sang and sang until the doors opened, and then we sat by the couple in the show. They didn't even sing. Part of me wanted to ask why they cut, but I didn't. Instead, I just sang along with all the songs and enjoyed myself. I hope they felt bad for cutting for the cute little sing along show.

In all, we were at Hollywood Studios from 9am to 2pm. Andrew and the kids did Toy Story Mania, and we all did Slinky Dog Dash, three Star Wars meet and greets, lunch at Sci-Fi Dine-In, and the Frozen Sing Along Show. Seven things in five hours seemed pretty good to us. We left feeling happy, caught the bus back with no wait again, and enjoyed the rest of the evening at our resort. It was a perfect, productive first day at the park.

The ride was too much for these two.
