We loved it here, so nice, so friendly, so inviting, so unrushed and so laid back. Just a really beautiful place to see.We stayed with Mike and Theresa while here and although we didn't spend much time together, we had so much fun watching their TV, flicking through Channels and using their phone. All of which were cardboard. Really nice and funny people.
All of the Smithsonian Museums are free so we had a very eductional visit to most of them. The National Air & Space Museum, National Museum of Natural History and the National Museum of American History. All of which were pretty cool. We got to see the Ruby Slippers from the Wizard of Oz, the Hope Diamond, the hat that Lincoln wore when he was shot and the Wright brothers' flyer.
We went into the National Archives and read about and seen The Declaration of Independence, the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, really interesting but couldn't take any pictures. Seen the White House, which is just a big White House :-).
We walked up and down the National Mall (1.9 mile long lawn) and seen the Capital Building, the Washington Monument, WWII memorial, Vietnam Veterans Memorial, Albert Einstein Monument and the very large Lincoln Memorial. We didn't get to see the Reflection Pool as it was under construction :-(
D.C. is really a great place to see, we both have worked out how the day works over here now. Get up, get Starbucks, work 9-5, go for a run or play frisby with people you hardly know (awesome) go home, then do it all again, how cool. No but really go to D.C at some point, really worth a visit.
Sending Love
