On our way to Idaho Springs Having a great time here. It's a little warm 90-92 degrees (nothing like AZ who is suppose to have temps around 118 this weekend!).
We decided to go mining today (or "menning, as Lexi says it). Headed out to Idaho Springs where the 1893 Argo Mine was built. We walked the little town first and found a really good restaurant called the Tommyknockers. We looked around a few shops then headed to the mines. The mine is no longer operational, but they bused us to one of the shaft, where we were able to walk down to the end and back. Then we walked around the old mill, which was pretty neat. It reminded Chris and I of Grandpa Coyne. After the tour, we were then able to pan for gold. The girls thought that was pretty cool, but then saw you could buy a basket of rocks for $6 and look for gems. They LOVED that. After the mines, we headed back into the small town and bought some gelato. There is no way I can be on a diet here! We headed back home afterwards.
