Arrived at Yosemite National Park and pitched our tent (first time since the Rockies!). We went on quite a few treks around the park - to El Capitan, Taft Point, Sentinel Dome, the fissures, Tunnel view and Glacier point. It was the best night's sleep in the tent up to now as it was nice and warm with no rain! We were only here for one night before going onto Death Valley.

Now, although everyone had warned us it would be hot, we didn't really believe that they meant that hot! We had planned to camp here but found out that trying to sleep at these temperatures would not be fun! It was still 47 degrees C at 7pm and we were told it would not go below 30 degrees. After whizzing around and seeing all the main sites (with no AC on most of the time as we were afraid the car would overheat!) we left the park and went to a nice little town to stay in a motel!
