It was a long but very scenic ride today. Had 300 miles to cover and most of the time it was very twisty. We took the Shorline Rd (CA-1) north which follows, of course, the Pacific coast. The wind coming off the water made it so cold we had to stop and dress in full leathers. I forgot to bring a sweater for Piper so we closed the holes around the carrier the best we could and she hunkered down in the bedding inside. It was an absolutely gorgeous day though. 100% sunshine. We stopped in a little town call Gualala (pronounced Walala) and ate breakfast at Bones Restaurant. We've been really lucky on finding great little cafes and diners since we got to California. Denny's is a distant memory but they are everywhere around here.

After eating, we tackled some more twisty roads until CA-1 ran out and got on a 4-lane road again. As soon as that happened, we went from coastal scenery to forest. We found the drive-thru Redwood and rode through it for $3.00. Got back on the highway for a while then ventured off on the Avenue of Redwoods. They are really huge! Took more pictures. We finally arrived at Emerald Forest RV Resort and headed to our campsite. The tree next to our site makes our camper look very small. After we setup, headed out to a local restaurant/bar to get some warm food. One place we stopped had two things for dinner and they were both served raw and cold. One was a raw/cold veggie lasagna. Guess you have to be a vegan to enjoy that.

We've traveled over 3300 miles now and have another 300 tomorrow to Oregon.
