After a mammoth flight from Auckland to Los Angeles, we make the short hop by air from LA to San Fransisco. There we were able to meet up with Nikki, a friend we had met for the first time - of all places - on the tarmac as we were boarding that dodgy plane from Phonsavan to Vientiane! Small world.
