2 Weeks In

Since being in New York we have spent 3 days at Santa Monica beach. It was our first slightly scary experience since we have been travelling. Never seen so many homeless people sleeping on the beach, on benches, almost anywhere you can think of!

A highlight of our time at Santa Monica was going to a Dodger's baseball game. We went with two english girl's we met at the hostel. Dodgers won -yey!

Collected a car on Thursday and started to drive up the east coast of California towards San Francisco up route 1. Absolutely amazing views, the hills and roads would not have looked out of place in the Alps. Lisa was so scared and VERY travel sick on the hair-pin bends! Stopped off on various beaches that looked nice along the way. On one, you're not allowed on the beach but there are viewing platforms that allow you to see loads of Elephant seals snoozing on the beach.

We stayed in San Luis Obispo, beautiful little American town. We found an amazing beach called Avila beach nearby where we're planning to stay on the drive back. (pelicans and seals in the sea) Glynn has booked a really nice hotel room here for my birthday.

So far in San Francisco we've visited Pier 39 and seen all of the fat fat sealions that lie out all day on the quay. They stink but are very cute! Walked over the Golden Gate bridge, 3 miles there and back in gale force winds -good views on high-rise San Francisco once the mist cleared.

Tomorrow going over to Alcatraz, then off to Hollywood in 4 days time.
