Welcome!

This is the begining of our trip, and we're trying to figure out this travel blog thing so every body can follow us on our journey. We're starting off in California, we moved out of our house a couple days ago and quit our jobs a few weeks before that. We're now at Brandi's wonderful mom's (and Dave's) house in San Rafael, and from here we're thinking about going up to Sacramento for a few days before we get to some hardcore driving.

Right now, we're doing a lot of work on the bus, putting on the finishing touches. Gimli (yes, named after the Lord of the Rings character) is going to be converted to running on veggie oil this weekend, so we're really excited about that! We are setting up our surround sound system this weekend too, and getting all our stuff put in it's proper place (big ups to Pops). Brandi and Carol will be making the curtains this week too...

There isn't too much to report just yet as the real journey has only barely begun, but look forward to more entries and photos. Also, check out our map here of the countries we've visited so far, and look forward to our route map that will be posted in future entries. And if you're out there in the US, look forward to seeing us soon.
