For the next 10 months I will be serving with Americorps NCCC based in Sacramento California.
The mission of AmeriCorps NCCC is to strengthen communities and develop leaders through direct, team-based national and community service. AmeriCorps NCCC is built on the belief that civic responsibility is an inherent duty of all citizens and that national service programs work effectively with local communities to address pressing needs.

Scavenger Hunt
Our first clue to find our team leader asked us to dress in as much blue as possible (we're in the Blue Unit) and take pictures along the way.

One of our team building trainings included building a specific object- without talking to each other. This was supposed to be an elevator that travels from place to place at high speeds.
Awesome, right??
If you look closely, you can tell that the top 3 of us are actually standing on chairs and leaning in... The joke is that this was MY idea... but I was too scared to actually do it.

I went to check out Old Sacramento. It was pretty quaint but mostly touristy.
