The Avenue of The Giants...and they weren't kidding!! Words can not describe this experience...so enjoy the pics.....
Ok, I can't help myself...it was amazing! These trees make a person feel like a speck of dust in a sandstorm! It was an experience I will never forget, the forest air was slightly sweet and earthy, here and there a ray of sunlight pierced through the heavy canopy and lit up the ground where baby giants are making a start in the race for life.
The bark is surprisingly soft and feels a little moist and hollow (noticed this as I was on a little tree hugging expedition), it's amazing to think just how strong these trees are, they do not grow deep roots but instead grow support branches that keep them balanced. (just a little sideline fact..)
We ran from tree to tree snapping away and every now and then just stood and tried to take it all in, trying to think of words to explain just how awesome and huge it is, but there are no words..... and the pictures can never capture the full experience....the smell, the feel...the taste and the way your eye can stitch the
bigger picture together, it is unfortunately a "you had to be there" experience.
The biggest tree we saw was 20meters in diameter and about 100meters tall and estimated to be 1000yrs old, and as everyone was saying, humans are so fragile.... we live a short 70years..and a simple tree outlives us...think about it...
Creation is beautiful!

My Appreciation
Thank you Elainy!!! Your blog is wonderful and made me think VERY deeply. Its things like this (even though I only viewed this in your photos) that makes us realise how fragile our life is, how MUCH Jehovah loves us and how very wonderous and amazing his works is. So entertaining and funny also which shows his lovely sense of humour. Thanks for making me think deeply about my Life and for helping me to be grateful to have the honor of serving Jehovah who created all these wonderous things!!! GO LAINY!! Keep on blogging
