the entrance and exit from The Venetian...
Wow, what an astounding couple of days! I felt Jodys' summary of our time in Las Vegas was a little depressing so, I might need to add a little to it . It truly is a sinful place but, it was beautiful. After all if sin presented itself as ugly who would want to participate in it ? That being said, it was unbelievable, the hotels and casinos were so ornately built and furnished, it was like being in a movie. The shops there were for the rich! We are talking Prada, Gucci, Dior, Harry Winston, etc. times a hundred!! Needless to say I did not buy anything there. The lights were amazing and you can't even imagine them......put all the Christmases together you have ever had and that would probably be one building. I think my favorite thing was the dancing waters show at Caesars Palace, it was truly a sight to behold! I think everyone should see it if they can but, I would never take a teenager or small child there. At times I was thoroughly amazed and then there were times when I was thoroughly disgusted and saddened. So, that is my take and I hope you

ok.... didn't see alot of death, but there was alot of heat!
do pray for that city and the young man, Erin McGill, that Jody told you about.

We saw a lot of country today, most of it desert and hot, 107! We went across the Mojave desert and part of Death Valley. The mountains are beyond description, the colors and terrain are so different than the ones at home, they change around every turn. We are in a place called Mammoth Lakes, you just have to see it to believe it! They call it that because it means, many large lakes, that what a local told us. I have never seen so many amazingly beautiful lakes in my whole life. I have to mention that it is cold enough to have a fire in the fireplace in our room, about 49 tonight! The air smells so good and the water tastes so clean and we ate at this place called the Stove, oh my goodness, it was the best meal we have had our whole trip, my dad would have loved it! I forgot to mention, there is still snow up here, can you believe it? Well that is all I can think of right now and I am sitting
