Malibu Country Mart Sign
This is the place everyone goes to shop and hang out in MalibuNancy's Entry -Today was definitely the highlight of my vacation! We got up and my nephew Damon took us to the "Malibu Country Mart" Starbucks where all the paparazzi hang out and all the celebs go. We didn't see any celebs today, but we had a great time people watching. After that we walked around and looked at the fancy Malibu shops in the shopping center there, and then piled in Kev's car and headed to Beverly Hills to eat lunch at my favorite place, Pink's. It's a tiny chili dog shack that has been featured on the Food Network and History channel many times because it has been around for so long. We sat outside and enjoyed every minute of eating food that's bad for us. After that my nephew guided us to the Robertson/Rodeo Drive area where I shopped and they sat waiting for me at yet another Starbucks. I was so excited to shop at Kitson, a beachy, kitchy gift shop that is featured in People magazine and TMZ almost every week. If you Google "shopping at Kitson" and click on "images", you'll see every celebrity you can think of shopping at Kitson. I bought myself a pair
Damon at Pinks
Here's Damon showing off his order at Pinks! No, just kidding, it was for all of us. Still...too much! of earrings and a floppy summer hat as a souvenir. I had tons of fun walking around and taking it all in. Then we piled back in the Porsche (I was stuffed sideways in the back seat by the way. It was fun -- made me feel like a teenager again.) We traveled back to Malibu and hung out at the house enjoying the ocean for a while, then headed out to dinner at a local place called "Kristy's" where we enjoyed an amazing dinner with beautiful ocean views. We went back to the house again where Kevin showed Damon how to play a few chords on the guitar. Shortly thereafter Damon departed for home because the next day was Monday and he had to go to work. Kevin, Bentley and I once again fell asleep to the sound of the waves crashing, and we loved every minute of it.

Shopping at Kitson
The most fun ever! in the sites—a Lamborghini Countach parked in the Starbucks lot, and all of the shops. Then we headed to LA. Nancy insisted on contorting herself into the backseat of the Porsche—even though I took out the bottom cushion to make space for the road trip—she swears it was comfortable. I parked in front of the Ivy—THE place in town to eat and be seen. Nancy shopped at Kitson’s and fit right in while wearing her floppy hat and big dark sunglasses, as if to say, ‘don’t look at me I want to be left alone’. We also stopped by Pink’s for a chili dog which is just something you have to do when in Hollywood since 1939. Dinner was by the beach in Malibu at a neat place that overlooked the ocean and served really terrific Italian food and great wine. We came back and were not terribly surprised to see that the Bulls had gotten creamed by the Heat.
Damon took off back into to town and I played guitar for a while until we crashed for the night. The waves are just hypnotic at relaxing you.
