I LOVE THE OCEAN. I just have to say that. It's hard to say that this was the best part of the trip because of how great the whole thing is/will be... but I can at least say today on the beach has been as good as any other day (that says a lot). We got up, grabbed a bite to eat, walked over to the beach, and pretty much stayed there all day. The weather was great... and though the ocean was freezing cold, we still got to wade out and play in it. It's really not that bad once you get used to it. The waves will rock you though, if you catch them just right. One thing I love about the ocean is how much you learn to respect it once you experience how powerful it is. The waves we experienced weren't really waves you could surf, at least to my knowledge, but they were still enough to get us slammed every now and then. I could have stayed out there for hours, days even. I really wish we had time to spend another week here; spring break really needs to be two weeks. One week is
definitely not enough time to do the amount of relaxation I need, especially when the day was as good as today.
After spending the daylight hours on the ocean we were pretty hungry, so we ordered some pizza before heading back out to walk on the ocean once it had gotten dark. We got there around 10PM as the high tide was pulling in... and you could definitely tell. Every so often (definitely more often than when we were there in the afternoon, which bookended low tide) we'd get a huge swell and really get wet. It was exhilerating, though Keith wasn't too thrilled; it was cold and wet and he had his camera and wallet to worry about. We passed by a couple of rocks that was constantly being hit by waves and consequently submerged (funny enough, the waves didn't even come close the same rocks earlier in the day) and I, being ever a 7 year old, decided to go play on the rocks. It was pretty awesome actually, standing on top of the rocks as the waves crashed in all around me. I sat down for a bit when I thought it was safe and ended
up getting a mouthful of water when a couple of massive waves came past. It was a blast! We stayed there for a little bit longer before retiring back to the hotel. When we got back there, I realized I had some sticky tar stuff on my feet, which could have only have come from when we were on the beach. I can't figure out what it was from though, since I don't recall stepping in anything sticky. It's kind of annoying. Other than that, today was top-notch. We have Vegas tomorrow but we're gonna try to hit the beach and then head down to Newport Beach before heading over to Sin City for DMB! So excited!
