Temp: 23 (in LA)
So, the first blog of my new adventure.
Another drama filled start! Ron was due to pick me up at 7am so we we're at the airport by 9am for check-in for our midday flight.
I woke at 1:30am feeling really sick. I had a constant feeling of needing to throw up with my head just about on fire. i took some zavance hoping to drop my temperature but no luck. At 3:30am i woke the parentals to see if there was anything they could suggest only to be told that we were going down to the hospital to see what was going on.
We went to Dandenong Valley Private Hospital Emergency instead of Dandenong Hospital because I'd probably still be sitting in there with the drunkos.
The doctor checked me out and advised me i had a gastric problem, my stomach was doing all sorts of weird things. He said i was also badly dehydrated so to make it for my flight he'd have to out me on a drip. in the drip they also put maxalon. and something else.
Dad and i (thanks dad) ended up leaving the hospital at about 5:45am in
time for me to get home and have a shower, finalise packing and have some brekky. Well the brekky didn't happen, couldn't stomach it.
Ron picked me up just after 7am, we drove the back way to Melbourne Airport (stopped 3 times as i felt i was gonna be sick), got to the airport and dropped off the hire car and met up with Mary.
Still felt really sick when i got on the plane but managed through to Auckland okay.
Ron had an earlier flight from auckland to la than us so we had to wait in Auckland for 4 hrs til ours.
We boarded that flight and was served a meal (that didnt stay down) then took a phenergon and slept til the lady woke us for our next meal. Well, 'slept' is probably pushing it, we had the worst turbulence I've ever had on a flight... soo bumpy! I kept down the breakfast of white chocolate pancakes but still felt like rubbish.
After we cleared customs we met up with Ron again and caught the shuttle bus to Hertz to get out hire car. We ended up getting a brand new Volvo C70 convertible. So Hot! We squished in our 3 suitcases, popped our destination address into out Hertz Neverlost Navigator, chucked KJLH on the radio and we were on our way to HOLLYWOOD!
We got here ok, no real wrong turns, Ron is the nominated driver (i ain't getting behind the wheel, these people are crazy on the road!).
Made it to the hotel, its so good. Right behind the Kodak Theater, highly recommend it, its called Hollywood Orchid Suites. We have a balcony overlooking the pool, our own little kitchen, secure parking included, its a complete little apartment.
We all had showers, got ready and headed out to explore Hollywood Blvd. Although I already did this 9 months ago i was happy to show Ron and Mary around.
We took some photos on the Walk of Stars, then into the Chinese Theater. we got a photo with Superman and wandered into a few Souvenir shops before going into the store called Forever 21. Mary bought a few things, even Ron bought a couple of things,i got just a pair of jeans and a top.
After this we went and had dinner at a 1960's inspired diner called 'Jonhnny Rockets'. I had a chicken club sandwhich and introduced Ron and Mary to Chilli cheese fries... shouldn't have as they diidn't look too pretty coming up before (sorry to whoever is reading this!)
Anyway, we made our way back to the hotel where Ron and Mary met another aussie and have headed out with him while i sit here typing up this with a few trips to the toilet in between (again, sorry). i'm feeling really miserable, and sad and most of me just wants to just back on a plane back home.
HOPEFULLY, ill be feeling better tomorrow, but its hard coz its not like i can just run down to the local GP to help me out. Anyway, I'm gonna try for some sleep.
love n kisses,
mich xoxo
