Epilogue

So, I've been back for a week now and have had some time to reflect on my trip.

There was a few things about USA that bugged me:
1. Tipping - i know the importance of it but still...
2. Tax - just include it in the price like we do here!
3. Alfredo Pasta - Just put the bacon in and make it Carbonara
4. How KFC didnt have fries... all their meals came with potatoe wedges (what the?!, thats the best thing about KFC!)

But there was so many things i love about the country that definately outweighed the bad..
1. WALMART!!! - Love this shop, had everything you could want and more!
2. Dollar Tree - Like our $2 shops but everything in the shop was actually just $1!
3. Forever 21 - Had the best clothes for the best price!
(for some reason they are all shopping related so far...)
4. Ranch dressing - Im still trying to find one here that tastes the same
5. Peanut butter M&M's, while we are at it, Coconut M&Ms
6. How polite people were with the mam/sir bit
7. How often the trains came in the subway (melbourne, u should take note!)
8. The $1 menu at Maccas and Burger King
9. How patriotic they are about their country
10. Chilli Cheese Fries - they are the best!!
11. Philly Cheese Steak - Also, the best!!

The was also alot of things i learnt about the country.
1. Its a longggggg drive from one side to the other!
2. The have a rediculous amount of Starbucks
3. The people are alot friendlier then people make out
4. Most areas arn't as bad as they make out in the movies (or maybe we were just lucky!)
5. Vegas is awesome! So is New York!

Im sure there is plenty of things ive missed but those are the main things.

Just some stats about our trip:
We drove 9500kms and sat on the bus for a total of 155hours..

All in all i loved the trip - it really was a trip of a life time!
I made some amazing new friends which im sure will be there forever for me and saw more of America than (I'm sure) most Americans have.
It really is a lovely country with very helpful people (any time i even looked slightly lost while holding a map someone would stop and ask if i needed any help).

I will definately be taking a trip back ASAP


51 new friends, 54 days, 24 states (plus Vancouver and Tijuana) and 5200 photos to go through!
