Pinks!
this is one of the things you must hit in Los Angeles! Well, another crack at the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson!!!
Armed with our little black VIP Card and headed to the Farmer's Market again (this time while shops are open!). I tend to drive by Pink's hot dogs to see how the line is. The last time we were here, we stood in line for over an hour but a one time saw a line that was only 10 people deep, which is very unusual. As luck would have it, it was 11:45am and the line was only 12 people. Guess who was having hot dogs?!!
We circled to block and grabbed some parking. The Martha Stewart dog, the Ozzy dog and a 10" Stretch chili dog were thoroughly enjoyed. It's great because it gives Hughie great ideas for gourmet hot dogs at home.
We headed down to the Grove again and grabbed parking and headed for a look around. We stumbled into a booth that was selling hot sauces. It was a fairly big booth and the shelves were lined with hot sauces. Geeze, if I had to guess, 150 bottles!! I was able to find some fun stuff and spoke with the lady about shipping

And this is why - the Ozzy Hot Dog. Spicy Polish dog, nacho cheese, american cheese, grilled onions, guacamole, chopped tomatoes. to Canada, which they will do - I was in heaven!!!
There's a store here called Crate and Barrel that we've been through before. I really liked this store, lots of great hardwood tables. We killed about 40 minutes here. Close to 2 o'clock we figured that we'd head to the Craig show. Here's a tip in LA. Make sure you get your parking validated!! These guys have no mercy!! $12 later we were headed down the block to CBS studios. Where we found the lot to be full and were advised to park at the Grove lot. This perturbed me. We headed back to where we came from..
We got in line and were filed through the gate. Almost 10 people from getting in, the line stopped. We heard "has anyone got a black VIP card?" to which we gleefully stepped out of line - WHEW!!! Had we not had this card, we would have missed the show again!!! We got to the head of the line where we received a felt marker "1" on our wrist. This put us on the front metal bench in front of the souvenir booth. I told Trish we were going
Trish at Pinks
She's done the Martha Stewart Dog, now onto the 10" stretch!! (kidding, Hughie ate it!) to get free stuff
The audience coordinator came out and explained a few rules to us. The applause factor was discussed to which we gave a rounding thunderous applause. The warm up comedian, Chunkie B, then came out and expressed how important to Craig we were. It truly made you feel a part of the show. Just as he was winding up, he expressed how CBS didn't have a big budget for giveaways on the Craig show and produced a coffee mug. He explained how much the coffee mug meant to him and that it was priceless. His Grandpappy made it on his death bed, and his name was (flipping over the coffee mug) CHINA, see it's right here on the bottom. He then went on to say how there was someone with a smile that lit up the room and that this person was an asset to have in the audience. A beautiful person indeed.. All the while looking at Trish, and Trish was smiling nervously. Chunkie said that he had to give his mug to this person as they were deserving.
Well, he pumped faked Trish and handed it to me!!! Chunkie said come on man,
Hollywood Blvd
This is why it's blocked off you're a beautiful person and put his arms out wide saying "lets hug it out". So i stood up and embraced Chunkie for a good 10 seconds!!! It gave a huge laugh to the group and I scored a few high fives and a coffee mug. I was walking on air - pumped for the show.
We were taken into the studio which is MUCH SMALLER than it appears on TV. It truly is the magic of television. And Craig's 48th birthday. Ben Kinglsey was on the show and a great guest. I was truly impressed with how the show was run, even when it was mentioned that Craig had the smallest audience in late night. Only 108 people, where Jimmy Kimmel has 250+ and Jay has 350+. You can see this show on Friday night. We had such great seats that you will see us a few times on the show. I applauded Craig opening his jacket and sticking out his chest, to which he replied - you're clapping for my boobs!!! Too funny. He was given a birthday hat by 3 audience members that he worked expertly into the show, including the end where he puts on
Jerry Bruckheimer
Imorrtalized in front of the Chinese theatre his magic hat and disappears. Afterward, he genuinely claimed "this is the best thing we've ever done on this show"
We left on cloud 9. Luckily, there was Whole Foods across the street. We had always planned to go so we headed over. The store was pretty impressive! The meat and fish counters were to die for! We walked the whole store and picked up a few things. I think we spent over an hour here.
We headed back through Hollywood and encountered a huge traffic jam on Hollywood Boulevard. In front of Graumanns Chinese Theatre it was blocked off. Photographers, security, etc were jam packed. I remembered that Jerry Bruckheimer was to be placing his hands and footprints in front of the theatre. We crept along in traffic and took a few pictures. Pretty cool indeed!!
We decided on In and Out burger again for supper and picked up some beer and burgers and headed back to the hotel.
Trish's Comments
Pink's for brunch - can't beat it. Was enough to carry us through the day.
The Late Late show was great. I got nervous after Hughie said we are getting free stuff
and then the warm up comedian kept on looking at me. I was dreading getting singled out. Not that I minded getting teased but I'm not quick at come backs at all. But he went for Hughie anyways, so it was all good fun.
Seeing Craig was pretty cool, we even got to see Geoff Peterson. But it was over all too quickly.

Christ that looks good! And I wondered at first why you were blogging about me while in L.A. Then I stopped drinking and shook my head. Don't fear I am drinking again now.
