Well the great North American adventure has started.

We had our "Amazing Race" moment in the airport in Sydney with thetravel agent not informing us of the online visa we needed to complete in order to depart the country which found us running through the airport, bags flying behind so that we were not the last team to check in. Thankfully, it was a non-elimination round. We celebraed with a VB (dodgey man!) on Virgin Australia which impressived us with their service, mood lighting, entertainment and help yourself snack bar. Before we knew it we were touching down in LAX and dealing with the insane traffic. We got straight to it finding a little Thai restaurant that was newly opened and settled in for a good meal and a couple of brewskies (and some eye candy - waiter!). Here is a run down of what we have got up to so far:

Day 1:
- Litre of tea for Cheryl and coffee (if you can call it that) for breakfast. I had forgotten how hard it was to order coffee here but the bagels made up for it.
- Mastered the metro system, ask anyone they did!
- Hollywood's walk of stars. It took a whole 1 minutes to be taken for tourits by Catwoman and Elvis.
- Shopping, shopping shopping.
- Mickey Mouse's Soda Fountian lunch, the sundae was awesome.
- Met Hugh Jackman, Tiger Woods, George Clooney, Will Smith, Justine Timberlake just to name a few at Madame Tuesads.
- Had our make up done by 2 drag queens, (Ohhhh Cheryl you look so sexy and it only took one hot minute!)
- Happy hour $2 beers, its hard work being a tourist!
- Hit the nightlife at an some old school bar although getting was a challenge and almost needed Phil to come save the cab driver.
- Litre beers later the musican / dog walker looked a little scarey when the ugly lights came back on.
- Decided cab was risker than walking home.

Day 2:
- Double decker bus time, we saw all the sights and more... Santa Monica, Beverly Wilshire Hotel, Melrose Place, Rodeo Drive, House of Blues, Vinyl Room (Viper Room), Chateu Marmount, Muscle Beach, Forest Gump, Baywatch, Beverly Hills just to name a few.
- Prada shopping with Emillio.
- Gucci shopping and even worked up the courage to touch a shoe!

Tonight we are in survival mode as we try and salvage our bag that are already starting to burst with our purchases. Tomorrow we fly to the land of tequila, margharitas and tacos. We are having 'technical' problems with the photo's but they're worth the wait, especially that one of Hugh!
Catch you next entry....

Cheryl and Leanne 😊

What a hoot!!
Hi Girls, Wow, what a hoot. I laughed the whole way through except for the part about the online visa.Yikes!!Anyway, glad you both got over that little hump and that yo've been able to hit the ground running. Looks like you will have both got some serious muscles from carrying all your purchases around the place. Leanne, I'm sure you'll be able to put all that to good use when you get back with your serious running regime. Anyway, enjoy the Mexican experience and I really look forward to hearing about your adventures there as well, where undoubtedly you will have some more tall tales to tell, which will be great. Take care.. Michael
