so right now im in our hollywood hotel waiting to leave for the airport! i thought id quickly right down all the important things that happened in LA before they get clouded out by australian excitement! so yesterday we left ottawa and it was very sad 😞 jess got both her bags searched at the airport and it was quite entertaining! our plane from ottawa to chicago was teeny tiny and we even had to move to the back "to help balance the airplane". oh and the bathroom door was broken and a bunch of asians kept getting locked in so every so often we would hear banging from behind us and know another person got locked in. and on to of that, the flight attendant needed to translate through their friends in order to tell them what to do! aha but anyways, we found our way to the other terminal once in chicago and managed to find our flight to la! when we got to la it was crazy culture shock...we had to wait sooo long just to leave the airport cause of all the traffic. and everyone was honking like crazy people! near the airport is kinda sketchy and all the houses have fences with barbed wire fences on top and bars accross the windows and such :s but hollywood, where our hotel is is super nice and clean and perfectly manicured! hamad picked us up from the airport and he was our saviour! we came to our hotel first to check in and freshen up and then he drove us to beverly hills where we window shopped on rodeo and ate at the cheesecake factory and it was incredible! some of the people shopping on rodeo are the most interesting ive ever seen! they almost look plastic hahaha...after that we went down santa monica boulevard to santa monica pier and it was so cool! when i picture cali i picture this! it had a mini amusement park, little surf shops, and beaches for as long as you can see! on the way back to the hotel he drove us trough the hollywood hills up to the hollywood sign and that was really pretty! and then he dropped us off at the hotel and we went to bed pretty early! (although we had been up since 4 am!)
and then this morning we both woke up before 7 - probably because of the jet lag! so we just watched a movie and had a lazy morning which was nice. then we walked along hollywood blvd (which is steps from our hotel) and saw the stars on the walk of fame. we also went into the ripleys believe it or not museum and into a few shops. then we just took a tour of stars homes and saw where a whole bunch of them live, including dr phil, tom cruise, the beckhams, mariah carey, michael jackson (the house he died in), nelly, leonardo dicaprio, etc, etc. that was pretty cool and it was nice to be able to sit down for 2 hours haha. so like i said, we are in our hotel right now ( we were able to leave our bags here all day) and about to taxi to the airport! aaah im about to leave for australia how exciting 😊

Hey Er! I'm glad you arrived safe...that airport sounds glamorous ;) Leave it to Jess to have her bags checked lol. It sounds beautiful in LA, I'm glad you girls enjoyed yourselves. I want to go now! The cheesecake factory and Leonardo DiCaprio make it sound like heaven...who cares about beautiful beaches ;) Hope you and Jess enjoy the week leading up to Brisbane! Miss you
