Day 20 – Road Trip

Our last morning in San Francisco was great. We headed to the Westfield shopping plaza near our hotel and rode the ‘curved’ escalators for ages - very cheap entertainment! Dropped in to Sketchers (shoe shop) and got a great bargain - 3 shoes for $90!! Then ducked around the corner for our last Clam Chowder experience at Boudin Bakery - we can’t get enough of that stuff.

Left San Francisco via car at about 1pm and headed down the coast. Arrived in Monterey around 4pm and dropped into the town visitor center. Soon learned that the people in Monterey are a little ‘different’. Did a quick tour of the town and decided to settle at a hotel in Cannery Row. To our surprise from initial impressions, it turned out to be quite a roomy place. Lastly was dinner on the pier at a great little restaurant - seafood again! A pretty quiet day, but good to be heading down the coast in our zippy Toyota Corolla.
