Woke up to snow at entrance to Bryce Canyon. The drive in to Rainbow Point is 18 miles. Scenery magnificent. Yesterday we were at the bottom of a canyon and this morning we were at the top of a different canyon. Everything seems larger than life. The rock formations are amazing. Some are known as Hoodoos. From Bryce Canyon we headed southwest out of Utah and back into Arizona. Everywhere there is a constant wind including a small sandstorm as we travelled. There are caverns everywhere and it looks like the sort of scene from old cowboy movies. We entered the Grand Canyon from the south rim because the north rim is still closed for the winter.Again everything seems larger than life. It is amazing that such a large piece of geography is so remote and unpassable. The town we are staying in is on the famous Route 66 for those old enough to know what that means. Tomorrow Sedona and points east.
