After a late night arrival (moonless dark night, winding narrow roads), we awoke to a beautiful forest campsite. The only draw back was that we were 43 miles from the North Rim and it was cool mountain air (elevation 8,000 ft). We waited for sunshine and headed out on the motorcycle at noon. Rode through beautiful pasture land and forests and only saw two Elk (expected buffalo). Hike all afternoon on the west edge of Angel Canyon. The Grand Canyon at that point is 10 miles wide and 5,000 feet deep. Too big to comprehend. We started home late and stopped briefly at Imperial point on the east side of Angel Canyon. Rode home in the dark and cold, so the heat of our motor home furnace was welcomed.

The next day was a rest and relaxation day with repairs to the motor home and a leisurely dinner at the local lodge at Jacob Lake. Barb was eventually persuaded not to buy a beautiful scarlet and gray Navajo rug for over $5,000. A good night!
