Whoa.
Since my last entry, we have driven all around the state of Colorado, visited Utah, and hiked to the bottom of the Grand Canyon and back. We originally planned all these great places to see...Yellowstone, Yosemite, etc, but between concert tickets I bought for a show in Colorado and a last minute opening for the hike down to the bottom of the Grand Canyon, the time restraints eliminated a lot of options. However, it did create the chance to see a lot more of Colorado than originally planned.
I'd like to start by saying how much I appreciate:
A. Hiking Boots
B. Wool Socks
After putting $10 bucks in a quarter slot machine and coming out of a Casino $120 ahead, I decided that money would be well spent on a pair of quality hiking boots. Alex and I invested in one pair of wool socks each. $20 bucks for one pair of socks makes me cringe, but when my footing slipped at the beginning of our hike out of the canyon, trying to balance on small rocks in order to cross flowing water, let me tell you...I would have paid a lot more
for that kind of quality. No doubt about it, my usual cotton socks and sneakers would have resulted in foot torture. With the quality gear, it was like nothing had happened.
Better update later! At least there's pictures!
