Biked out to the Rim early morning
What Beauty we have in this country! We just spent 4 nights camping in the Grand Canyon. We had beautiful campsites, hiked a bit of Bright Angel and Kaibab (about 1 mile down), saw sunset at Powell Point, walked the Trail of Time showing the geology of the canyon from 50 yrs to 1,900 million years (yes, that's a billion +!), had examples of rocks from each layer to see and touch, had lunch overlooking the canyon in El Tovar lounge, and ended with Sunrise Easter Service at Mather Point with the sunrising behind the cross! A perfect way to end a perfect stay. Our friends from church, Doug and Judy were there and we ended our days with them and meet them on the trails. Our friends from skiing, Chris, Rich, and Hage were there too and the had dinner and campfire with all of them (after the crows ate their cooler and food! - they had to go back to the store!) Now we're at Cottonwood south of Sedona staying in Dead Horse State Park. Ernie is loving walking around the parks, but didn't get to see the Grand Canyon.
