After a month in Grants Pass we headed north again to visit my mom in The Dalles. Stayed there almost a week then left for the Alaska cruise. The cruise was wonderful. The moms had a great time. About ½ of the time on the cruise it was cold and rainy, but the scenery was gorgeous. We saw a lot of wildlife from the ship and of course the food was awesome. Mike and I took a whale watching cruise out of Juneau. We saw so many bald eagles. Probably about 20 or more just in one day. And we actually saw whales. We saw the exciting stuff just as we turned around to head back to port. The captain turned the boat around and all the other people went back inside the cabin. I stayed outside and saw a whale breach (jump out of the water) about 100 yards away. I screamed to get the attention of the others and they all came running back out on deck. Then thankfully the whale breached again. We all got a great view.
