Karlie & me and the entrance. Karlie & me and the entrance. Karlie & me and the entrance.

Don and to take the picture.
RV parks are scarce in the Denali National Park area so we ended up staying about 27 miles outside the entrance area in a tiny, and I mean a dot, of a town called Cantwell at the Cantwell RV Park. There really wasn't much to it except that it had 30amp and water. It mostly housed Federal workers from the railroad. The owners were extremely nice and accommodating and it was quiet. We ventured out the following day to find Mt. Denali formerly known as Mt. McKinley. The owners of the park told us to go up the road about 50 miles to the South View Point area where, if we were lucky, we would be able to get a good view. Only 30% of the time are you able to view "the mountain" because of cloud cover. Therefore, if you get lucky enough to see it you become a member of the 30% Club. Of course we were hoping to become members of the Club and low no behold we were! It was very hazy, due fires in the Yukon Territory, but we were able to see it. We got an even better view with the binoculars! It is a

Look in the middle of the picture for the snow capped mountain. Tha is Denali. It is hard to see because it is so far away and it is hazy but that is it. ???
big, beautiful snow covered mountain. We are now 30%ers! ?? I do like to think of myself as being a little more than that though. I have higher standards in life. ?

We only stayed 2 nights in Cantwell as to be honest, we didn't find much to do in Denali. We drove back into the little village which mainly consisted of a boardwalk type of street that had the usual types of ripoff shops and a few restaurants. Beyond that there wasn't much there. You could only drive 15 miles into the Park yourself after that you had to take a bus or guided tour which we weren't much interested in. You could also hike, raft down the Rapids or take a flight over Mt. Denali. None of this really appealed to us. Guess we are just Duds. It was pretty but we saw and we left. Glacier National Park is still my fav. ?

Heading to Palmer and then going to take day trip to Anchorage from there. Talk soon.?
