What a beautiful day! Danielle and the girls went to Earthquake Park, which commemorates the earthquake of March 27, 1964. There was a large sculpture that displayed what happened to the earth in the Anchorage area. Of course, Gabbi and Jacqui climbed all over it! Danielle, Gabbi and Jacqui picked me up from work and we went to the most climbed peak in Alaska, Flattop Mountain. The 3 mile round trip took us past lots of blueberry bushes. The picking was a little slim since it is late in the season and the trail is so well used… The sky was so clear that we had amazing views of Denali (160 miles to the north), Anchorage, Cook Inlet (with Turnagain Arm and Knik Arm) and the Chugach Mountains. We finished the day with a stop at the Moose’s Tooth for some really delicious brew and pizza. I went for a run at about 8:45 with plenty of light and a return at 9:30 that was starting to get dusky.
