The Harbor
We went on the wonderful cruise tour. We left Skagway and went into Haines. The photos pulling into the Haines harbor are some of my favorites. We saw several humpback whales, sea lions and Bald eagles. We had 3 hours ashore in Juneau. We went to the State Capital. but Sarah wasn't there. Back on the ship for more whale and glacier watching. A wonderful 9 hour tour. The next morning we had to catch the ferry at 5:45. We crossed the channel over to Haines, drove on in to Haines junction to see if we could get tickets to the Blue Grass festival, no luck. We went to a bakery for a Salmon Bake where one of the bluegrass bands was playing. Next day, we got back on the Alaska highway. What a bumpy road! The permafrost undermines the pavement. It bounced all of the clothes off of the closet rod. We are now in mainland Alaska. We have spent the last couple nights in Tok Alaska.
