One day without writing and I don't know where to start. I guess I shall start with the RV -- the reason we are here. The various "sign-in" people have seen us. The back end cap of the RV has been ordered. He said we should have a new back compartment door so that has been ordered, also. "MY" list of minor repairs for the inside has been noted and they will get to that when the body work is done. While chatting with another couple who are here for the Wet Bay Recall (a part of their floor is hanging down under their RV!!!), we thought we should have them check our rig for this recall along with a couple other recalls. They did and guess what: we have the same "wet bay" probem...our floor just hasn't rotted down like theirs YET!!! We also have some holes on the roof rails (recall problem) that need to be fixed!! In the beginning, with just the back cap repair, they said it could be @ 4 weeks to get the part and repair done...now with everything else, if we get out of here by Christmas, we may be lucky!!! I am exaggerating some but we have no idea now how long all this will take. Cory is to meet with "BillY" tomorrow and maybe they can give us a better idea. All we know is that we won't make it across the USA on this trip. We will be glad if we can just get out of Alabama. We could leave...with or without the RV..and go places but, now with the other repairs, I don't know if we can do that...looking more like day trips now and then. A marvelous technician came this morning and fixed our TV - we ALWAYS have problems with the satellite dish on top. He also fixed our surround sound so now when we watch a movie, it won't vibrate the coach and knock the windows out with the loud sound. We used to turn the volume down and try to lip read. Remember by story when I watched "Precious!"
Last evening, we went back to Swamp John's for dinner with Joe & Linda (Tropical Palms friends). It was even better this time---the lights went out (Alabama - we aren't in Georgia)!!! A power pole, down the road, was on fire. I had asked the locals what the crop was growing in the fields -has a small reddish flower at the top. It is cotton. We stopped along the roadside and checked it out. Now, when I sing " those cotton boles are rotten...you can't pick very much cotton"-- I can visulaize what I am singing about. Note my photos of the cotton boles and plants. Rather than just come back here to Runway Alley, we went out to the Tiffin RV plant where they paint all the new RV's. It is huge...rows and rows of 2013 Tiffin RV's that we could wander through....all unlocked! It was fun do that --- remember our big excitement will come when we visit the Coon Dog Cemetery.
How often do we say "it is a small world!"....it is so true, though. First, we found our Tropical Palms friends here which really brightened up our day. Today, we were visiting with another RV'er when I noted a very small dog that I recognized!!! I looked at the owner and immediately knew this was "Pat" - a member of the Allegro Club we used to belong to. She and her husband, Millard, are here for the "Wet Basement" problem. They live in Niagara Falls. I always enjoyed and appreciated them as they gave us some helpful and useful suggestions regarding our RV -- they have the same year and type as ours. They are here for awhile also, much to their dismay....they'll adjust. We are ALL going out to dinner tonight. If our group keeps growing, we will need to rent a van to travel around together in...3 big RV's and none are meant to take to dinner. Our dining choices (Swamp's, Piggley, McDonalds's, Jack's) are limited so not sure where we will end up. I'll let you know next blog. I know it will be great -- just because we will be with friends!!
Tomorrow is the 35th anniversary of the death of Elvis Presely...big doings in Memphis so we are planning one of our first trips to go there and then drop down to Tunica, Mississippi where they have big casinos. We will probably stay over night at the casino. Coon Dog Cemetery will be next week --- we can't do too many exciting things in one week.

How nice that you are meeting up with friends. It sounds like you are already making a lot of memories also. Hope everything is going to get fixed soon, so you can continue on your journey. If you have to wait around, at least you have some company. Look forward to your blogs.
