This one photo needs an entry just for itself. As the trip progresses, I will try to update this page more and more with photos of the driving conditions, but to start this one photo speaks for itself if you look closely.

Driving in Mexico, as I have quickly learned is an adventure within itself. First off, Mexico has more speedbumbs then I have ever seen...pinches topes! They are not always the small ones either, there are all types here: large, tall, short, metal circles, etc. So that is one problem especially at night in the dark! Another concern is all of the animals on the road. The dogs are the best of all. They just sleep in the middle of the street, at times they move but, other times you literally have to get out of their way. Cows, horses, donkeys, sheep, etc. line the streets as well. They typically get out of the road, but at their own pace of course

The highways/autopistas are the worst though. We were driving along the highway during the morning of this weekend trip and all of a sudden there was a detour. Not a detour that we are accustomed to though. There were no signs or direction of where to go! The only thing you could do was follow the other cars, if you are lucky and there are other cars. They literally moved the highway to the side of the unpaved, gravel road alongside the mountain. It is almost like you are off roading, but without the jeep. There are huge rocks and boulders that you need to try to pass while paying attention to the oncoming cars, of course because they have the same detour from the other way.

Anyway, check out the photo closely.
