One of the lesser known Mayan sites in Yucután, Mayapán does not see anywhere close to the number of tourists as more popular sites like Tulúm or Chitzen Itza (which I still have yet to visit after 4 visits to the peninsula). That is definitely one of the attractions in addition to being able to ascend to the top of the principal pyramid. It's close to Mérida and super easy to get to by colect...

Hey John, your story is very familiar to me. We were there in 2002 with a bunch of friends and then also did Mexico City and Yucatan. Nice pictures again
