Woke up this morning in Cozumel, Mexico. I don't even know how many times I have been to this port. It seems like every cruise I have ever taken stops in Cozumel.
Our ship docked in the southern most port along with the Regal Princess. Since there were two ships with about 4,000 people each I thought I would spend the day on board instead of fighting the crowds. I decided to read some on my balcony, but they were doing some hammering just outside so it was too loud and annoying for me. I then tried the pool deck, but that was also extremely loud. I decided at that point to go to shore and walk around. I got off the ship and walked around the shopping area. I also noticed the extremely large Oasis of the Seas docked nearby. Since the majority of the people getting off the boat were going on excursions it was actually kind of quiet.
I found a great sandy beach area with plenty of shade near the shopping area and decided to try and read some there while having a great view of the ships. It was wonderful! For about two hours
My Quiet Private Beach
For at least two hours this was a great, quiet, shaded spot to read and people watch. I had this whole little beach area to myself as a lot of people thought you had to pay to sit in this area. I watched people getting on their small boats to go to their excursions and read some in my book and had a great peaceful morning.
After about two hours it started getting crowded and a little hot. I was extremely hungry at this point so I decided to walk to a restaurant close by and had lunch by myself. I don't enjoy eating meals by myself, but since I had my book with me I was okay. I ordered a sandwich and a couple of drinks and then headed back to the boat.
Once on board I realized my phone had automatically adjusted to the local time and so I was an hour ahead of the ship's time so I had boarded the ship pretty early. I went back to my cabin and watched a movie and tried to take a nap but my neighbors were making way too much noise for that.
I met up with a few people at the casino bar and then we all decided to eat at the
Oasis of the Seas
This is one HUGE ship! Almost looks like two cruise ships in one. pasta place again and I was very excited because I loved their Chicken Parmesan. We had to wait about an hour before we could be seated as we didn't have a reservation, but we all had a drink and enjoyed each others company.
Dinner was just as delicious as it was a couple of nights ago and of course I had the same entree as it was just too good to pass up again. After dinner, everyone was tired so we all called it an early night (if you consider finishing dinner at 11:00 an early night).
Tomorrow is the last day and a full sea day. I plan on relaxing and spending the day maybe by the pool and then packing. Everyone is meeting at the dining room tomorrow night for dinner as it's our last night on board.
This will probably be my last post on this trip. But starting on Wednesday the 8th, Drury and I head out for our big trip to Asia and I will start posting again.
Thanks for following the posts and I hope you enjoyed looking at the pictures. I will definitely try and get more photos of
me and Drury on our next travel blog. Talk to everyone again soon!
