Patrick and I arrived on Isla Mujeres yesterday afternoon, and have now officially been in the country of Mexico for more than 24 hours.

Last night we ate at a small cafe on a small street while mopeds, golf carts and taxis drove past. There are dogs and cats in the streets and brightly colored concrete buildings everywhere. We do not drink the water, we stumble on our words, I am afraid to try spanish, it seems everyone speaks so quickly.

We are staying in a hostel that I highly recomend, it is called Poc na, a private room for two without air conditioning runs at roughly 27 american dollars per night including free breakfast every morning. There are bohemian youngsters all over the place, a few with british accents but mostly the beach bums are spanish speakers. people bring there tents and camp out in the sand within the hostels boundaries, volleyball is constantly being played, and there are hammocks absolutely everywhere.

More observations will come but I believe our internet time is up, Im hoping to get a certain australian point of view soon. My palabras para dia es lugar nuevo. Lugar nuevo means New place. Here we are will post again soon!

hasta luego!
