Edit Blog Post
Hi folks, the server on travel blog seemed to be down for over a day, and I'm trying to sort out why you aren't getting notifications when I post a new blog. NOTE: If you are reading this, there is one you are missing called Lobster & Steak On the Town. It is out of order due to the server being down!
So where was I? I've got some catching up to do! Friday we moved to our new condo. It's a lovely condo as well, we just have to hike it up 3 levels. We settled in nicely and got on with our holiday. The family is really enjoying the roof top with its views and loungers.
We did a little touring yesterday, but stayed fairly quiet, eating, drinking, eating, drinking...well you get the message! The slow living of Playa is exactly our speed.
We had a fun night last night. We went to a new bar called Wah Wah's named after the "wah wah" pedal. There's a classic rock band called the Nasty Bastards who used to play at Bad Boys and they've started this new bar. We had a blast, danced the night away with
the kids. There were other kids there so we felt comfortable having ours there. I tell ya, I woke this morning with sore legs, that's how much I was tripping the light fantastic. Mom joined us as well, and she enjoyed every minute of it.
Prior to that, we took a walk on 5th. There was a guy with a albino python called Bella around his neck and he was holding two iguanas, the mother and her baby, called Pookie and Spike. Lara held the snake and Rory held the lizard. The baby iguana was THE cutest thing ever, even for an iguana. It kept nuzzling it's mother with made it extra cute. The girls was pretty brave holding snakes and iguanas, I was having NO part of that let me tell ya. I am not a fan of this parading wildlife around a tourist area, but it happened so quick that it was hard to pull the girls back.
Sat (today) Al went diving. He was supposed to go for his training at 11 am but they were late by 2 hours due to a scheduling conflict. I am looking forward to hearing about his day. (there's
a few pics below of him!)
The only drawback has been this very loud and annoying family on the 1st level (NO, not us!!!). We had to ask them one night to pipe down it was so outrageous. This is the same family that I referred to in a previous blog who were screaming in the pool and also had glass bottles in the pool.
This morning their evil offspring woke us not long after 7 am and it sounded like one of them was being beaten (we can only hope!). I was steaming. Have some respect. If their kids aren't crying, they are screaming, whining and yelling - we had to close our patio doors at one point. So I emailed Tonya and she contacted security and the owner who rented out the condo. Many guests have been complaining of the noise which makes us not feel we are being unreasonable. I also wrote them a note and put it under their door asking them to be respectful of everyone else's vacation, including keeping their kids from running the halls so early in the morning. I did say that if they continued this daily routine we'd be
showing up tonight around midnight with a marching band. (I'm collecting pots and pans should we need to follow through with it!!). Totally unacceptable behavior.
We met another family that moved in from BC. They have two kids and Ava has made another new friend. Chad & Nyla the parents are really nice people and I expect we'll be sharing a drink around the pool tomorrow.
So that was our day. That's alllll for now folks. There's lots of photos on this blog so arrow all the way down to see!
PS if you don't see a blog notice in your email, just click on the last blog entry and hit "next entry" to see a new one in case Travel Blog keeps having technical problems! (that's ONLY if you want to read the journals!)
Sal - Head Conductor of the marching band coming to a family near you 😉
