Ohhhh scary It's Monday and we had a nice day despite Lara feeling ill since Weds. The locals say that Mexico is blamed for bacteria, food poisoning, Montezuma's revenge etc, but sometimes we Canadians/Americans fly on stuffy planes in close contact & bring viruses with us. Who knows what Lara has but we've had excellent care since Saturday. (Revised a few years later that Lara was diagnosed with Celiac Disease which had nothing to do with food/bacteria etc.)
The Doctor that is used by our condo is Dr. Carlos and he came to see Lara & prescribed antibiotics & pain relief for her symptoms. Since then he's checked on her a few times & decided to run some blood work to make sure he knew exactly what he was dealing with. He even came and drove us to the lab; there were no lineups she was ushered in asap. By 5 PM today they'd emailed me her results. What medical care, drive to the clinic by the Doctor, no lineups, results in hours & sent by email??!!The doctor even came back to the condo without prompting and now they know what they are dealing with have started a different round of antibiotics.

They grind your morning cup right in front of you.. She is finally starting to improve at 10PM Mon. night. There are so many viruses and this one as they say had "Lara by the tail". I too administered alcohol 😉 Doctor's orders!!!
SO based on all that, we just couldn't fly on Tuesday not knowing how she'd be. We made a flurry of calls to change our flights, contact the condo owner who graciously gave us a very fair rate to stay on 2 more days, and helped change our transportation to the airport.
So we're here for a few more days arriving home on Thursday. All I can say is if you had to be sick somewhere, the warm tropical breeze and ocean don't hurt.
Grandma Robusky leaves tomorrow so Marth, Pat and I went for dinner to a little Italian cafe close to our condo. They had this special of a "mixed grill" for $79 CDN (for all 3 of us..$25 a head?!) which included a bottle of chardonnay wine. We had fresh lobster tail, garlic shrimp, rib eye steak, fresh salmon, fresh tuna, and fresh whitefish, salad, rice and potatoes. This meal was beyond believable for the price (and that includes tax!) What

Nanna in her new dress a little find and I expect we'll be regulars there in no time! What I love about Playa is ALL tax is included, so what you see on the ticket is what you pay for. The only thing you need to make sure is sometimes 10% tip is included in your bill but even so, tipping double here is worth it.
After we came back to take the girls to the beachfront fire show but tonight it was moved to 11 pm. Kids were willing, adults were tired so we took a nice walk along the shore on the soft sand. (I later found this amazing drawing Rory did; it said "my greatest wish is to go to the fire show.
😞 .the picture was a guy eating fire. Guess I'll have to make that one up to her.
I'm thinking it would be too perfect here without some drama, so I guess we've had our share but in the end really, "Life's a beach so surf it up"!!!
