Plane
Lara's pic of sunrise from plane! Hola all! Had a great flight here except for the annoying person in front of me that kept adjusting their seat & hitting my drink tray. (Yes it was Martha in front of me!!) The flight attendant noticed Lara drawing characters for her "fairytale twist" & asked to read it. Turns out she's published 6 children's books & was very interested in Lara's writing. She's writing another novel & gave Lara the outline of it & wants her to give her her thoughts on it... Fun start to our trip.
Arrived early in Cancun to overcast & rain (not so envious are you now??). Had a private 18 person van waiting for the "6" of us & 45 minutes later were at our condo. (tipped extra to the lads who had to haul our wine-filled suitcases up to our condo! Yes we brought wine to start us off but sure know where to get more here!)
Our condo is even more than we expected. A beautiful big oasis of huge palms, flowers & lush garden surround the complex. There are only 20 units here, and it appears the place is less than even half full. Although there's one big

Lara's pic of above clouds family group here & they were all in the hot tub/pool yesterday drinking, partying, hooting...I was wondering if the last name was FORAN but didn't ask?! They seem to have cleared out now so I look forward to quiet, quiet quiet.
The entire condo is marble, beautiful dark woods, state of the art kitchen, big comfy chairs, couches & everyone has a big marble bathroom with glass walk-in showers (mine has a walk in shower with seating-maybe that's for when you are hungover & can't stand up?) & a big jacuzzi tub that seems to have "SALLY" written all over it. Big flat TV's throughout, great sound system to boot. We have a terrace on each level but on the main level we have a nice big table to sit out on which overlooks the complex & pools. The waterfalls sound like the ocean and the rooftop penthouse has our own hot tub, outdoor kitchen & grill...you name it.
Marth & I unpacked & hit the Mega for our groceries which is a mere 3 blocks away. I LOVE this store...why you ask? There's a huge fresh seafood/fish section & they get their fresh seafood delivered off the

Pool & we're corner condo with palapa (thatched roof) boats by noon each day. AND, next to it is the booze aisle with every choice of beer and wine you can imagine, and THEN next to it is the biggest freshest bakery I think I've ever seen...rows of goodies, croissants, baquettes, doughnuts, cakes, muffins, cookies...Sweet Jaysus I've landed in HEAVEN!
We had our huge full shopping cart & looked around for the exit. WELL, the only way out is on a moving walk on escalator. OMG, try getting on that with a full cart going down quick. OK turns out the wheels lock on the escalator, so no one was injured in my shopping adventure. But, yippee, my first ride in Playa. 😉
For dinner we took a walk to HC Monterrey, a family run take-out cafe of slow-cooked arrachera steak with baked potatoes, grilled onions, grilled jalapenos, salsas, guacamole & freshly baked tortillas (2 pounds of melt-n-your mouth steak & fixins' for about $20 CDN total. It fed all of us with leftovers for lunch). Al you'd LOVE the heat from all the salsas!
Here are some pics (click on them for bigger view)! Please note the plane pics Lara (11) took all by herself,

Marth tippin' an ale they are very cool!
Today we are off for massages, and to walk the beach till I find the biggest margarita known to woman. It's still a bit cool but tomorrow it will be over 32C...The pool is surprisingly heated so we're just fine thank you!

Great pictures
Rain didn't slow you gal's down much. Great contrast to my -23 degrees and 10 to 12 cm of snow in Crossfield today. I helped Edna navigate to your blog last night. So I think she will follow your vacation as well.
