"Your mind will answer most questions if you learn to relax and wait for the answer." Buenos dias family & friends! And happy birthday (July 6th) to my dear friend Zully!!! Sending you birthday greetings & hugs. Another hot sunny day happy to report. We've had heavy rain both nights which is awesome, then we wake up and it's fresh and over with.
I think it's safe to say we are all relaxing and enjoying this amazing house. Just when you think it can't get better, the manager Dan came by on Sa. and unlocked this big box on the wall (that we had no idea what was in it) on the terrace and lo and behold it's a large flat screen TV reserved only for the owner. But he felt he could trust us to enjoy it. And we did by watching Wimbledon on the terrace sipping drinks and having lunch. Sitting outside watching TV? Think there's a joke in there somewhere 😊
While on the terrace yesterday enjoying my lunch, I hear a noise and see initially what looks like a monkey off in the distance, but then it came closer and I realized it had
a long tail like a monkey, but its face resembled more of a raccoon but with a longer body & nose. Turns out, they are called a coati. See pics at bottom. Anyhow, I clapped really loudly and he jumped off the stone fence and literally the poor lad fell right out of the tree he was trying to jump to. He ran off and have not seen him since. I love the birds and butterflies but I don't need any caotis hanging around thank you very much. Still it was rather cool to see.
I am so relaxed and well, lazy. If they were giving out awards for laziness, I'd probably win, but given I am SO lazy, I'd have to get somebody to pick up the award for me (HEH HEH).
After breakfast and watching tennis Sat. morning, Al, Ray and I wanted to the local big grocery store. It was hot, but a beautiful walk past all the McMansions in the community, and past a true bird aviary which is supposed to be amazing to tour. It houses over 200 rare tropical birds where you see parrots, macaws, yellow tailed orioles, flamingos, toucans, brown pelicans,
and also other wildlife like turtles, butterflies, in the beautiful jungle right in Playa! We will take the tour on Monday morning.
So we're stocked up on groceries, drinks for a few days. We spent the day lounging, enjoying yummy sandwiches and chips and reading, floating, enjoying Latin music. And after being here 9 full days, Sat night's night's dinner was the first time I've cooked. Not too hard to cook in a kitchen like the one here.
So we bought chicken, and I marinated it in lime juice, garlic, cilantro, herbs, chili powder and a touch of margarita mix (for a bit of sweetness), then grilled it on the BBQ. We had foil wrapped potatoes with Parmesan and onions, and a salad of leaf lettuce, cherry tomatoes, onion, apple, Parmesan and goats cheese with a balsamic vinaigrette. Al grilled the chicken to perfection and there were nods all around. It was fabulous.
All in all, nothing too much to report. It's rather boring in a good way, but hopefully we will get some activities in now that we are settled in, and getting our lazy all out!
Al and I are heading to 5th avenue
this afternoon to pick up a few items, and go to a beach club for lunch. Tonight Lara & Kate are cooking a stir fry for dinner.
Hope life at home is hot, sunny and you are getting your LAZY on 😊
Salida 😉
