Claire: Sat 4th Nov We left super sunny Cancún to begin an adventure out to Chichen Itza. After some confusion at the bus station (this Spanish malarkey is a lot of hard work), the 12pm bus got us into the little town of Piste a few minutes from Chichen Itza around half 4 in the afternoon. a random bit from the top of el ossario that fell of and was restored. it represented a god of some kind but no-one seemed sure who or why.

this building may not have actually been a church but was called this as it was beside a building they decided was called the nunnery

not sure this had anything to do with nuns... the naming scheme round here seemed a bit slap-dash

the observatory building. this one was actually used as an observatory. we were allowed to climb up to the level the circular structure was on but not actually into the observatory itself

see the little mayan heads. we liked these little guys; they were everywhere on this building.

square 1

these pillars were part of a big squre where meetings and stuff would have taken place. they used to support a roof but it dissappeared at some point apparently. the square is sometimes called the square of 1000 pillars as it has loads of the things. we captured a few for you.

a pillar depicting a figure. possibly a god. they seemed big on gods here.

this was called the red house. i just thought it was a nice looking building so i snapped it.

Tryin it out again
I will make an attempt to post again, prolly wont work though but here goes. Ross bring me back one of those there Lizards, They look quite cool. You should grab a tail of one to see if it falls off.
