Another early start today, but this time we mean REALLY early. Up at 4am is almost too early, especially after another dreadful night's sleep. But we made our bus (less than GBP1 for well over an hour's journey) along with an awful lot of Mexicans on their way to work.

Today's objective was to get from the beach town of Sayulita to the 2000m+ altitude town of Guanajuato, our home for 2 weeks whilst we conquer the Spanish language. After thoroughly enjoying their buses last time, we again opted to go with ETN. Ed slept continuously for more than 4 hours, which must be something of a record for daytime public transport. The bus hit traffic - we half expected the ETN bus to get a police escort through this but alas even premium service has its limits - and we made our connection by only the narrowest of margins.

Our time in Guanajuato, in one place, will hopefully allow us to live healthily for a bit - something that has been sorely lacking. We got to our hostel at 8pm and postponed our health kick with an evening of Corona and cakes.

(NB We stayed in a hostel called Casa del Tio which, apart from a great location, certainly wouldn't get a recommendation from us.)
