Super Bowl Sunday, we moved about 140 miles southeast of Puerto Vallarta to San Patricio – Melaque where we checked into Laguna del Tule Trailer Park. We lucked out. Paradise is thatched cottages, palm trees and clean untrampled white sand.

Lonely Planet calls this the most beautiful beach on the Mexican southern state of Michoacan’s coast.

I'm sure that this tiny beach is the prettiest I’ve ever seen.

Though larger but more lovely and secluded this beach reminded us of a beach near Halona Cove - the Oahu beach on which the love scene From Here to Eternity was filmed.

In order to access this beach Ray and Ed clamored over the rock outcropping. Michelle and I ran around the outcropping when the surf receded.

This rock is known as dedo de Dios (finger of God).

Duplicates again but I couldn’t decide which photo was better.

We were soon joined by about forty soldiers taking pictures of each other and enjoying a little R and R.

We spoke with the Captain. He spoke English well. Said he’d recently taken his family to Disneyland. We were not allowed to photograph the soldiers.

The island has a cave thru which daylight can be seen. We were unable to get a boat tour thru it as is sometimes done.

None of the panga owners were around that day.

We had hoped to hire one to give us a cruise on the bay and to explore the cave under Elephant Island.

I can't believe you put that pic on of yourself too but keep it on there! Looks like your finding new things to see on you adventure again. We've been working on the house here alot.If you go into my pics you can see the before and after pics and of things we've been seeing and doing here. We have company coming the end of this mth into next month.Learning our way around this part of the country pretty good since we have a car this year. Hope your travels go safe and have fun. Enjoyed your blog,keep it up.I know its alot of work.
