So Pretty!So Pretty!So Pretty!

I love how the streets are draped with lights and paper lanterns. This street had these beautiful lit up Pointsettias draped across, I am tempted to buy one and carry home.
Hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas day! We woke up to the sound of Church bells and Roosters! You can imagine in a town with hundreds of churches and roosters in every yard that can be a loud wake up call. It is a beutiful clear sunny day here even though a bit nippy here in the morning but should warm up to a nice 72 degrees or so. Enjoying a cup of coffee and a big glass of fresh squeezed orange juice does it get any better? One of our missions yesterday while walking was to find an orange juicer to use here and take home. You would think in a country that makes lots of fresh juice it would be easy, not so. We did find lots of electric ones but we wanted the old fashioned kind. Finally found one after many hours of searching. So we are now enjoying the fruits of our labour LOL. San Miguel is a town that is filled with meandeering alleys and cobblestone streets so easy to get lost which is fine for us since we really have no where to be. So we just walk and walk until we can't and catch

THis was a small scene with Joseph, Mary and Jesus in the back of the truck then we all walk behind it some carry candles some just walking. We walk a while but the crowd was getting quite large so ducked up a side street.
a cab back. Saw lots of people out buying all the trimmings for their dinners and Christmas Nativity scenes and presents for family. Everywhere you go there is some sort of holiday makings going on. Tonight should be very fun as our neighbors are planning quite a big Christmas Posada. They think they could possibly have over two, three hundred people. So should be lots of fun and lots of noise! Can't wait. We had a wonderful dinner last night at neighbors. We had grilled chicken, lasagna, meatloaf with salad yummy. So much food for just the family and us but we enjoyed ourselves and had a really nice time so lucky to have them next to us. Anyways we are off and ready to walk the streets and explore Beautiful San Miguel De Allende!

This is an amzing mural at the institute depicting the many stages of the Mexican culture. It starts from the Maya/Aztec, the conversion to Catholic religion, the War of Indepence from Spain to more modern times. Really colorful and so beautiful. Small Alley we walk through. Nice to get off the narrow taxi filled streets. Sometimes when a car is driving through you have to hug the walls just to get out of the way. They all seem to be very patient and slow so not really worried about getting hit.
