Each year millions of butterflies migrate from the icy winters of Canada and North America to the more temperate remote hills a couple of hours north west of Mexico city, where they rest, in preparation for mating and the return north. On these hills near a town called Angangueo they congregate at night on the branches of pines trees in such numbers the boughs bend under their weight (sometimes breaking off) and you can see these brown pods that look like nests everywhere.
The sun wakes the butterflies from their slumber and they gradually begin to flutter around until after an hour or two the sky is filled with cloud of bright orange. Who'd have thought we could be so amazed by
butterflies.
