Driving into Drumheller is one of the eeriest experiences I had on this trip. The road suddenly starts to decline as you dip down into this canyon, which had earlier remained invisible amongst the flatness of the prairies. The surrounding landscape makes you feel like you just travelled back in time to the period of the dinosaurs. The town is covered with person sized dinosaur statues at almost every corner, with the main attraction being the giant 90 foot T-rex statue, which towers over the town. I visited the Royal Tyrrell Museum, which is hands down the best dinosaur and fossil museum I have ever been to. I highly recommend going. The alien landscape is filled with dinosaur fossils and the layers in the soil show the geological history of the area. There is also a very peculiar geological formation called a hoodoo, which you can see in my pictures. I was also able to capture some great night shots thanks to the reclusiveness of the town.
