Picture Perfect..
Well I decided to wait and write one big blog that includes all the happenings over the past month.

For Christmas we headed up to Meagan's home place in Quebec. There were two reasons for this:
1. Meagan's mum makes a mean turkey and her farther keeps a two year supply of beer
2. Our roof in ottawa decided to leak and was not going to be fixed anytime soon.

As can be seen from the pictures we had alot of snow over Christmas which coupled along with the random Rain Deer around the house and some dodge Christams jumpers made it feel super christmassy! We spent a week there, during which time we done the usual Christmas stuff like share presents, eat loads and reduce the two year supply of beer down to 2months😊
Early in the week we decided to slide down the hills around the house....with 2ft of snow it became a bigger challange to make it to the top never mind manage to slide down! Unlike home we used actual sking slides...not turf bags! The day ended with Colm taking a alkward (but funny). This resulted in a shoulder injury, we were happy to retire

The slopes
to the warmth of the house at this point where Colm lay in one position for a good 24hours😊
At the end of the week I had my first skiing trip. We headed to a local slope called Mount Regaurd. Conviently i forgot my Camera on this trip. To say it took me a while to get the hang of skiing would be an understatment! Once i manged to Ski I encountered the small problem of stopping! For those of you who have gone skiing i'm sure on your first trip the technique of stopping was very similar to mine...fall over!

For New Years we headed back to Ottawa. Colm had to work for most of Christmas and New Years, thus he went back a few days before us....to a water damaged house! Megan and I went downtown on New Years eve to watch the fireworks display. This was on at 7pm to celebrate 150years as the capital.....fine for me because it coninsided with new Years in Ireland...perfect! The Fireworks were absultly amazing. They lasted 20minutes and around most of the city seemed to turn up...check out this link Fireworks 2008
That night we all headed to the local bar,

Fireworks in ottawa. They started at 7pm which was New years in Ireland..good timing Ottawa!
where a very good band rang in the new year.

The following weekend we (including Colm this time) headed to the Ski slopes for round two. Definatly the most fun i've had in canada so far! After finally getting the hang of skiing towards the end of the first trip I didn't fall over half as much and the feeling that i was going to kill some kid with my poor skiing had all but gone at this stage. The next challange is to learn snowboarding! Winter Olympics here I come!

Well that's all the news for now. The leak in the house has finally been fixed, I still haven't got a job and yes I am a bum... but a happy bum😊 Next i'm hopefully going to get down to New York to visit my friend Donna before the funds run out......

Till then................
