Wow, what a day of travelling! Many modes of transport were taken. After a local train we boarded a regional train to get to Newark Airport via monorail. We flew to Toronto and had no problems with immigration etc. Then it took an age to find and get on a local bus to get to our hotel which Michael booked though apparently it was not as close to the airport in reality as it seemed to be on the map! Thus there was a little more walking from the bus to the hotel than expected. After an early meal we fell into bed. The next day we took a taxi to a more appropriate bus stop that we could catch a bus directly to the airport so that we could pick up our rental car for our time in Canada. We were pleasantly surprised at the cost of a rental car for the duration of a month, it beat the combined price of catching buses and trains and of course saved a lot of time and frustration too. As our friends from Jasper Scott & Junko were back in the country from living in Japan we drove over to Montreal to catch up with them before they had to fly home. We picked up two guys off craiglist, which is an online classifieds with a rideshare program available so that we can share the expense of gas from Toronto to Montreal. They were nice guys and good conversation. While staying in Montreal we stayed with Delphine (CS) who was a brand new member. While we didn’t see her much during our stay she helped us a little with our french on that first night. The next day we met up with Scott & Junko for lunch and an afternoon of drinks and catching up which we enjoyed immensely and wished it could happen more often. That night however as we were paying for dinner Michael could not find the credit card. He ‘looked’ everywhere and could not find it so we thought it best to cancel it. This now being two credit cards that he has misplaced! Of course, when no longer intoxicated the card was found in no other than his jeans pocket! Hmmmmm. Better to be safe than sorry I spose, although that line of thinking could extend to not drinking as much either so we’re not sure we’re a fan of that line of thinking. Ha. Ha,
