The bus ride up from Boston to Montreal was very pretty, taking some 7 hours, we found that it passed quite quickly, a change of driver at White River, Vermont, the bus had to be fixed as the wind screen wipers had stopped working. The weather was a little wet and grey, but that did not change the views out of the bus window. We had front row seats on the bus, so top position.

Entering in to Canada, was a hope off the bus and through customs and then back on the bus, ladies first of course, Jody did all the talking, and could not remember when we we leaving Canada, or answer all questions about where we were staying in Vancouver, so when Jody was finished I just said I'm following her…!

We finally arrived in Montreal, over a very long bridge across the Fleuve de Saint laurent river, which is very wide. The sky line of Montreal is like many other major cities.

Arriving at the Bus station was quick, we even found the information desk to be very helpful. The Canadian French speaking guy pointed us in the right direction to our hotel.

A short walk, which took us about 10 minutes, found our hotel, next door to two sex shops, okay don't judge a book by its cover.  A flight of stairs took us to the reception. We were meet by a very nice man. He gave us our room key and we walked towards our room, wondering what it would be like. Opening the door to the room, it was lovely, nice bed, nicely decorated, a toilet and a shower room, best if all it was very clean. Yippee, our first nice room and cheap too.

We ventured out for the evening, along the street to find some food, then to turned in for the night.

The next morning, we had a look at the map and decided to head towards the train station to pick up our VIA rail tickets so we could cross Canada. We then headed towards the old town of Montreal, the streets were nice, nothing special. Jody asked if I wanted a hat, okay, so we spent about an hour in different shops looking for a hat for me. Many different hat, many of them real fur, Jody and I were not impressed. I was getting a head ache. So we went for a hot chocolate, and a very nice hot chocolate it was too.

Could not find very much in the old town of Montreal so we headed back to our hotel room, for a rest, as if we have been busy. This travelling is very tiring you know!

More seating in the Internet for Toronto, Jody found a Hostel, very central, and very cheap, it looks perfects so we booked it.

In the evening we headed to the Italian side of town and ended up in a little Italian restaurant for pasta. It was busy in this part of town with many students, but I would not say it was buzzing.

Our body clocks have finally adjusted to the local time, so to bed at about 22:30

The next morning I woke at 6am, that is normal for me, so I jumped on the computer to catch up on my finances, as it had become a Friday routine for me, which I was going to try and keep up with while travelling, otherwise my accounts and money would get out if hand.

I did a bit more surfing to find out about Jasper, found a nice place in budget which had a pool, but more importantly a hot tube, oh we have to book this.

Ottawa we have found a jail to stay in, which we have booked, it was cheap too.   I know what you are thinking, it is a jail and jails are normally cheap places to stay. Well you are right and we're going for it.

Train leaves the station at 13:00 to head for Quebec, we have 5 days in Quebec city and looking forward to the old city.

The train has WiFi, and fast too, but we want to look out of the windows.

See you in Quebec.
