Montreal with a baby

So, here comes a new experience. Traveling with a 2 month old surely brings a different vibe. Accomplishing 1-2 things a day is an achievement. Sitting through an hour long lunch or dinner would be a gift. It's all about how to calm your baby, so let us say - we appreciated cobblestone streets of old Montreal. Honestly, it felt like we were torturing her, but it we rolled nice and slow and it worked like a charm! For one reason or the other, our little ones falls asleep on seconds!

A few things to note:

- air bnb rocks especially when travelling with a baby. We stayed a couple of blocks from Notre Dam cathedral. Great location.

- we planned 1 to 2 things a day. First day, we quickly visited Notre Dam cathedral. Really impressive. With baby, forget about walking tours, but there is always Wikipedia.

- Rue Saint Paul. Very cool street to explore full of coffee shops, restaurants and boutique shops. Maria managed to get a couple of presents. Decisions need to be made quickly. Saw smth you like? Just get it. You probably are not going to return.

- Famous pattisserie Maison Christian Faure. Little did we know that we would be staying a few blocks from a pattisserie with a world renown chef. We learnt that: 1) Christian Faure is a highly renowned pastry chef who has won many prestigious awards around the world including 'world's best pastry chef'; 2) He worked at the Prince of Monaco’s Palace; 3) 4 embassies fired their chefs and exclusively order sweets from this place (we were told by a person at a nearby table enjoying his treats); 4) he is President of The North-American Chapter for the Meilleurs Ouvriers de France Society. Apparently big deal; 5) building houses cooking school where regular people like us can also take classes. The Christian Faure pastry school is the first international school dedicated to French pastry in Canada.

Anything almond is truly special. Needless to say, we're coming back tomorrow. Maria wants to try passion fruit and prailine dessert. Apparently must haves.

- Gibbys. Great place set in a 300 year old barn ?. Place gets full quickly. We came early and managed to get a table based on a promise we leave in 2 hr. We left in 45 minutes. We had spicy sausage and gazpacho for appetizers and salmon trout (trout that is pink!) as main course. Trout was grilled to perfection with a tasty sauce.

- On the second day, just after the morning pastries by the famous French guy we went to the 1972 Montreal Olympic Park. I've been to a few Olympic parks and they're always special plays - Montreal was no acception. The tower, in particular is the one thing to do, if nothing else for the amazing views

- Dinner at a side restaurant eating cod with an interesting mesh of marinated onions, leaks and corn. Really tasty.
